FAQ
PERMANENT COSMETICS
HOW LONG CAN I EXPECT MY PERMANENT COSMETICS TO LAST?
The pigment used in permanent cosmetics is semi-permanent and can last between 1-3 years. The pigment will begin to fade within 12 months. To keep your brows looking fresh, a touch up is recommended every 12 months to 24 months maximum. After 2 years, the full price for Permanent cosmetics will apply. For clients that choose a softer look and lighter color shade initially or those who did not follow the aftercare instructions properly may require more frequent touch-ups.

WHAT FACTORS WILL CAUSE YOUR PERMANENT COSMETICS TO FADE FASTER
- Iron deficiency & Anemia: Your body will absorb their iron-based pigments more quickly. You can take iron vitamins to help prevent fading.
- Sun exposure: Increased exposure to the sun will cause premature fading. You will want to use a special sunscreen for your permanent cosmetics. I recommend, EltaMD SPF 46 or Color Guard both can be purchased on amazon.
- Retinols/Retin-A’s & Exfoliants: These items contain certain acids that affect the permanent makeup and will make it fade faster even after healing. It is important to avoid getting these creams and serums near your permanent cosmetics. The rule of thumb is to apply these products 1-inch parameter away from your permanent cosmetic area.
- Peels & Lasers: Do not get these treatments directly on the brows. Notify the technician that you have permanent cosmetics. Brows will fade faster due to the chemicals traveling under the skin when doing chemical peels.
- Strong immune systems
- Exposure to saltwater
- Smoking: Smokers may notice that their permanent cosmetics will fade faster
- Medications: Some medications cause the pigment to metabolize the pigment faster which will cause quicker fading. Please notify the technician about medications to see if any medications you are currently taking fall into this category.
- Oily Skin: Increased oil production can cause hair strokes to blur and heal lighter and powdery.
- Age & Metabolism: The faster your metabolism is the faster the pigment will fade.
- Bleeding during the procedure: Excessive bleeding during your procedure will greatly affect how your body retains pigment. While this is not entirely in your control, it is important that you follow the pre-care instructions to help minimize bleeding.
ARE SEMI-PERMANENT COSMETIC TREATMENTS DEEMED PERMANENT?
Technically, semi-permanent micro-pigmentation is considered permanent because the color is implanted into the upper dermal layer of the skin and cannot be washed off. However, the pigment is implanted more superficially than a traditional tattoo, so it naturally fades over time.
DOES THE APPLICATION HURT?
We take every precaution necessary to ensure the permanent cosmetic treatments are as pain-free as possible. A strong topical anesthetic cream is used prior to and during the procedure to keep you as comfortable as possible. Some clients find the procedure a little uncomfortable while others report no discomfort at all.
HOW LONG IS HEALING TIME?
Immediately after your Permanent Cosmetics treatment and in the first 10-14 days, your brows will appear significantly darker and defined than perhaps your desired look. It may continue to get darker over the next few days as scabs begin to form, however, this is not an accurate indication of the finished and healed result. 10-20% of your brow color will fade as the scabs fall off within 7-10 days. In some cases, the scabs may take longer to heal and fall off. DO NOT PICK YOUR SCABS. The pigment is within the scab and you do not want to pull any pigment out of your skin prematurely. We all heal differently and what works on one client may not be effective on another so please do not compare your results. The complete healing process takes approximately 6 weeks.
HOW DO YOU CHOOSE A COLOR?
We choose a color together by applying small amounts of different colored pigments to the skin near to your brows and selecting the best match for your skin tone, features, and personal preference. As a rule of thumb, we closely match the color of your brow hair rather than your current hair color for the most natural results.
CAN I HAVE MY EYEBROWS MICROBLADED IF I AM PREGNANT?
No, you cannot have this treatment done if you are pregnant in case of infection.
DOES IT HURT AFTERWARDS?
The area can be a little sore for the first few hours and tender to touch for a couple of days.
CAN YOU MICROBLADE OVER AN EXISTING BROW TATTOO?
Microblading can be done over an existing brow tattoo, however, the old tattoo must be significantly faded for the hair strokes to show through and look natural. Also, you cannot have oily skin to do Microblading. Please advise if you have an existing tattoo and submit a picture to determine if you are a candidate for this procedure.
WILL MY PERMANENT COSMETICS LOOK FAKE?
NO! Semi-Permanent makeup is done using a handheld blade or digital pen. Our hyper realistic artistry and unique pigmentation guarantee soft, natural-looking permanent cosmetics. When we implant semi-permanent makeup pigment in the skin, it appears more natural looking than topically applied cosmetics.
ARE THER ANY SIDE EFFECTS DURING OR AFTER THE PROCEDURE?
During the procedure, there may be some minor bleeding. This depends on the client. If you take blood thinners daily, then some slight bleeding may occur. Bruising is rare but can occur. There is usually some tenderness for a few days.
LIP BLUSH
WHAT IS LIP BLUSH?
This is the process of infusing pigment into the lips to create perfectly shaped, naturally pink lips. Please note, it does not give lips Volume as injections would but they will look Fuller as we enhance the Vermilion Border to sculpt and shape the lip.
DO I HAVE TO PREP FOR LIP BLUSH?
YES! Upon booking a Lip Blush treatment we will send you pre-care instructions to start prepping your lippies!
Please note, the lips are a sensitive area. With that said, you will need to get a prescription for anti-viral medication Valtrex or Zovirax, this is to protect and prevent any kind of cold sore or fever blister outbreak.
Two sessions are recommended.
IS THE LIP BLUSH TREATMENT PAINFUL?
Discomfort is relative. A topical numbing agent can be applied after the skin is opened to lessen discomfort if necessary.
WHAT IS LIP BLUSH RECOVERY TIME?
There is no downtime, however, the lips will take 5-10 days to fully heal. You will need to keep them moist with Aquaphor throughout the healing process. Lips will be 20-50% darker proceeding day and some swelling in color may occur. Day 3-5 the lips may flake slightly. The Final color appears approximately 30 days after treatment and varies from person to person.
HOW LONG DOES LIP BLUSH LAST?
This varies from person to person depending on the client’s skin, lifestyle, and health condition. Lip Blush is considered semi-permanent and they will fade over time. After touch up, the Lip Blush tattoo will last from approximately 2-5 years. If your skin is very oily or has iron deficiency, it will most likely fade faster.
CAN I STILL GET LIP BLUSH IF I HAVE LIP FILLER?
Absolutely. In no way does having lip filler interfere with the process of tattooing lips or the results. Please note lip filler and lip blush appointments MUST be at least 4 weeks apart from each other. If you are thinking about having lip filler and lip blush done, we advise you to get lip filler first and then schedule lip blush treatment 4 weeks later.
CAN I GET LIP BLUSH IF I HAVE DARK/COOL TONED LIPS?
Yes, however, on the first session we will need to color correct your lips to cancel out the cool tones. This means the initial color we tattoo must be orange. If we are to tattoo any other color, you risk darkening your lips further or having absolutely no results at all. When healed at 6 weeks, most if not all the darkness in your lips will be covered and your lips will have a nude-pink even tone. Please note, that results cannot be guaranteed, and lightening or evening out dark lips may take a few sessions. Under no circumstances will we tattoo a NUDE color on dark or cool-toned lips.
